Have to say I agree with this one!  Good job Mr. President!

West Virginia Governor, Joe Manchin, announced on MSNBC that he will “likely” run for Robert Byrd’s Senate seat.  The West Virginia legislature will convene for a special session to determine whether the Governor should make an appointment, or whether the state should have a special election to replace Senator Byrd.

The DOJ claims that the state of Arizona is preempting the Federal Government and their duties to enforce immigration laws throughout the nation.  Arizona doesn’t see it that way.

President Obama stated in a speech that the borders would not be secured, and that we simply need immigration reform.  He stated that the current laws were unenforceable.

But our borders are just too vast for us to be able to solve the problem only with fences and border patrols.  It won’t work.  Our borders will not be secure as long as our limited resources are devoted to not only stopping gangs and potential terrorists, but also the hundreds of thousands who attempt to cross each year simply to find work.

Arizona Governor, Jan Brewer, says that the Government simply needs “to do its job.”

The Government has failed to do its job to protect the borders of this nation, and enforce its laws.  A Gallup Poll suggests that 50% of Americans are against the lawsuit from the DOJ.  It’s time for the Federal Government to listen to the people of this nation and protect their borders.  If they aren’t going to do it, Arizona will.

This comes as a huge win for the nation as the courts are keeping the Administration in check, letting them know that they can’t make policy without backing it up with good reason.

Headlines today suggest that the US Department of Justice could bring a lawsuit against the state of Arizona as early as today!  Full commentary and thoughts will be posted later!

He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

Does this remind anyone of anything that is going on with the state of Arizona?

He has dissolved representative houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

How many times has the President called out the Republican party saying they are doing harm, when in fact they are standing up for our rights as Americans?

He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

How many new “initiatives” have we seen announced that raise your tax dollars by the billion?

These are just a few examples of the liberties taken by the current establishment of the Obama Administration.  It is scary, and my fear is that it will only become worse.

A message was sent to Obama today from the Philly Tea Party, and Tea Party organizations around the nation.

Today the President announced 2 Billion more dollars in government spending towards his clean energy agenda.  The disheartening point is that one of the two companies is from overseas.  Abengoa Solar is headquartered in Spain according to their website.  Should we not try to fund American companies to enhance our economy?  Instead, we are sending our limited resources overseas while Americans cannot find work.

President Obama states that we are moving in the right direction with unemployment which is sitting currently at 9.5%.  Obama used this speech to launch his new Broadband Initiative.  This is becoming a trend, whenever Obama has some bad news, he tries to distract us with “new initiatives.”

For instance, when we had the oil spill and no progress being made, we put a moratorium on drilling, and start expanding into new energies, as well as sparking up the Immigration debate.  And now, we have a new Broadband Initiative that is supposed to create jobs, however, no one is looking at how much money this initiative is going to cost.  Money that the United States does not have.

The President assures us though, that we are headed in the right direction.  Interesting fact, in June of ‘09 the unemployment rate, according to the Department of Labor, was also at 9.5%.  In one year’s time, we have not moved the needle down on unemployment whatsoever, it has risen, and fallen to the same 9.5%.  Make no mistake, this is not good news.

Today President Obama gave his first dedicated speech on Immigration reform.  This speech was stirred from a rising debate about new laws in Arizona, that do nothing more than reiterate current federal laws in the United States about Immigration.

The President started out by recognizing the controversial law in Arizona, and giving his concerns about the aftermath and blowback.

In recent days, the issue of immigration has become once more a source of fresh contention in our country, with the passage of a controversial law in Arizona and the heated reactions we’ve seen across America.  Some have rallied behind this new policy.  Others have protested and launched boycotts of the state.  And everywhere, people have expressed frustration with a system that seems fundamentally broken.

The President then proceeded to claim that being an American isn’t about blood or birthright, but about a sense of “feeling American.”

and that being an American is not a matter of blood or birth.  It’s a matter of faith.  It’s a matter of fidelity to the shared values that we all hold so dear.  That’s what makes us unique.  That’s what makes us strong.  Anybody can help us write the next great chapter in our history.

This does not make any sense as the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, says it has everything to do with those things.

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Obama later stated that our borders are the most secure that they have been in twenty years, and also that they are too vast to control.

So the bottom line is this:  The southern border is more secure today than at any time in the past 20 years.  That doesn’t mean we don’t have more work to do.  We have to do that work, but it’s important that we acknowledge the facts.  Even as we are committed to doing what’s necessary to secure our borders, even without passage of the new law, there are those who argue that we should not move forward with any other elements of reform until we have fully sealed our borders.  But our borders are just too vast for us to be able to solve the problem only with fences and border patrols.  It won’t work.  Our borders will not be secure as long as our limited resources are devoted to not only stopping gangs and potential terrorists, but also the hundreds of thousands who attempt to cross each year simply to find work.

The President and the rest of the Obama Administration has clearly demonstrated that they have no desire or will to secure our border, they would rather have the people who are here, become legal, and get a fast track in doing so, instead of forcing them to leave, and return legally.

The last thing the President made point about, was to make sure that yet again, he pointed his finger in the direction of the Republican party to say that they are the problem on the issue.

I’m ready to move forward; the majority of Democrats are ready to move forward; and I believe the majority of Americans are ready to move forward.  But the fact is, without bipartisan support, as we had just a few years ago, we cannot solve this problem.  Reform that brings accountability to our immigration system cannot pass without Republican votes.  That is the political and mathematical reality.  The only way to reduce the risk that this effort will again falter because of politics is if members of both parties are willing to take responsibility for solving this problem once and for all.

So all we have seen from the President on this issue, is another failed speech of finger pointing, and meaningless words, while making a mockery of the Constitution and it’s principles.  When will this administration wise up?

As the SCOTUS confirmation hearings continue, Elena Kagan has been pegged by conservatives as being pro partial-birth abortion.  This is just one of the many liberal agendas that Kagan is being attacked for by conservative parties.

With a liberal President in the White House, it is no surprise that he would nominate a liberal for the Supreme Court of the Land.

Kagan has stated that she will not let her politics and ideologies determine how she we rule from the bench, but many wonder how that is possible.

Kagan also adopts the belief that the Constitution is a “Living Document” and that the framers of the Constitution understood the need to adapt for change.  This could be bad news for Conservatives as she will rule with a liberal mindset that doesn’t try to frame the original intent of the Constitution, but rather warp it for a liberal agenda.

Kagan is also coming under fire, as many question her qualifications to become a Supreme Court Justice as she has never served time on a bench.  How can one be ready to make the biggest rulings in the nation, if they have never made a ruling at all?

The Senate Confirmation hearing for Elena Kagan began today.  We will keep you posted throughout the week and the hearings proceed.

The president spoke about how we need financial reform, yet he has brought us into one of the largest deficits in recent history.  He also said we are going to create a new agency, in translation, he said we are going to spend more money on another useless Obama Program.

Last Tuesday the President announced that he would ban offshore drilling for the time being until they could determine the cause of the current disaster.

The position of the court was that just because one rig exploded, the first in over 40 years, it did not give sufficient evidence that there are other rigs in jeopardy.

The White House gave the order even though it was not an action recommended by advisors of expertise. This was a quick reaction call without proper thought.

If the moratorium had gone on it would crush parts of our economy and kill thousands of jobs in the oil industry.

The White House said they will appeal the fifth circuit immediately.

Nikki Haley  had been declared the winner in the Gubernatorial Primary for the Republican Party in the state of South Carolina.  This makes Haley the first female nominee for the Governor position from the GOP in South Carolina’s history.

President Obama has announced a new Fatherhood Initiative. His announcement went on about how he never had a dad there for him in his childhood.

To accomplish this he has budgeted 500 million dollars. Is this really another sending endeavor the country needs to take? No!

There are plenty of programs out there already for kids who don’t have father figures in their lives. There are churches, there are charity clubs, and more.

In a time when there are enough economic problems, not to mention a huge deficit, this is the last thing we need.

Over the last few weeks we have seen a ton of controversy over a new law in Arizona.

In fact, there is so much controversy over this law that the Justice Department plans to bring a lawsuit against the state because of the new legislation.

We have seen protests, and riots, signs, and demonstrations against the law.  But what is really wrong with the law anyway?

Many people contest that the law opens up racial profiling, and that it is invading the privacy of Hispanics and other immigrants.  My question is, have these people even read the legislation?

I took some time to read the bill and found some interesting points.  The law clearly states that an individual must be stopped first for a crime or violation.  How does this open up to racial profiling?  Here is a quote from the legislation:

B. FOR ANY LAWFUL CONTACT STOP, DETENTION OR ARREST MADE BY A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OF THIS STATE OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY OF A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE IN THE ENFORCEMENT OF ANY OTHER LAW OR ORDINANCE OF A COUNTY, CITY OR TOWN OR THIS STATE WHERE REASONABLE SUSPICION EXISTS THAT THE PERSON IS AN ALIEN WHO AND IS UNLAWFULLY PRESENT IN THE UNITED STATES, A REASONABLE ATTEMPT SHALL BE MADE, WHEN PRACTICABLE, TO DETERMINE THE IMMIGRATION STATUS OF THE PERSON, EXCEPT IF THE DETERMINATION MAY HINDER OR OBSTRUCT AN INVESTIGATION. ANY PERSON WHO IS ARRESTED SHALL HAVE THE PERSON’S IMMIGRATION STATUS DETERMINED BEFORE THE PERSON IS RELEASED. A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL OR AGENCY OF THIS STATE OR A COUNTY, CITY, TOWN OR OTHER POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE MAY NOT SOLELY CONSIDER RACE, COLOR OR NATIONAL ORIGIN IN IMPLEMENTING THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBSECTION EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY THE UNITED STATES OR ARIZONA CONSTITUTION. A PERSON IS PRESUMED TO NOT BE AN ALIEN WHO IS UNLAWFULLY PRESENT IN THE UNITED STATES IF THE PERSON PROVIDES TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER OR AGENCY ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

1. A VALID ARIZONA DRIVER LICENSE. 2. A VALID ARIZONA NONOPERATING IDENTIFICATION LICENSE. 3. A VALID TRIBAL ENROLLMENT CARD OR OTHER FORM OF TRIBAL

Now I do not see where this violates anyone’s privacy, or rights.  This is nothing that they aren’t already doing, it merely takes it one step further to validate that they have legal status in the United States.  Their identification already  verifies this (if states are following proper identification issue guidelines).

This is another attempt for the liberals to push their agenda and say that the Republicans in Arizona have infringed on the rights of people.  This is completely and totally ludicrous!

Just a few notes on the weekly address for this week:

I think this address was a smokescreen for the issues at hand.  There was not one mention of the oil spill but rather more healthcare and jobs.  The President comes out attacking Republicans for blocking progress instead of focusing on the issues.  Has he ever considered that blocking some of these votes IS focusing on the issues?  Maybe they want to be sure that all of the ducks are in a row before it goes to a vote.

We have an obligation that goes beyond caring about the next election, we have an obligation to care about the next generation.

We do have an obligation to care for the next generation.  We could start by not nearly quadrupling the deficit, and not denying help to clean up this oil spill that is going to stop hundreds of jobs in the mean time, killing the economy.

Instead of pointing fingers at the Republicans, which is all that has happened since the Obama Administration has started, why not try to find a resolution to the real problems at hand?

Today the United States Coast Guard halted oil barges from cleaning up anymore oil from the Gulf until a full inspection of the vessels could be completed.  What were they checking for?  Life vests, and Safety Equipment.

Is it not already past the point of being concerned about safety?  Which is more important, following every regulation to the ”t” or getting the oil cleaned up before it reaches shore?

I don’t blame the Coast Guard, they are just doing what they are told to do.  However, we have a President running loose at the wheel with no plan or agenda for cleaning up this mess.  What is more surprising was his decision to stop all offshore drilling for the time being.  What good is that going to do?  That slows production, kills jobs, and will effectively raise your prices at the pump once there is less oil in supply.

We also have many countries that are willing, and have been willing, to help us clean up this mess.  These countries have experience and the equipment necessary to get the job done, yet we have told them ‘no?’  When will the madness end?  When are the Washington Bureaucrats going to get off of their high horses and realize that we need help, and admit the help is readily available?

It is time for the politics to end and for solutions to be made.  We don’t need more twiddling of thumbs in Washington.  We need leaders and we needed them 60 days ago!

We have yet to hear a clear plan and vision of what he plans to do to handle the emergency.

My thoughts on the speech are that we have a President that doesn’t know what to do, and isn’t interested in bringing a solution to the current crisis.  What I heard from this speech is that we are going to raise energy taxes, and push forth a campaign agenda of ridding ourselves of fossil fuels.

What I didn’t hear in the speech was, accurate numbers of the damage, and leak, what we are doing to stop the leak, and what is being done for restoration.  It is two months since the disaster began and we are just now putting people in place to think up a plan?  This seems absurd to me.

We need a leader, not an agenda pusher.

Let’s face it, the liberal Democrat party are driving the country on a reckless frenzy into the ground, and we are all getting sucked into the whirlwind.  Times are only get worse as we let these fools run our country into the dirt.

I tried to warn everyone that this would happen but nobody wanted to believe that Obama was anything but spectacular.

The 2000 Presidential Election proved to be one of the closest, and most controversial, campaigns in American history.  With much of the country outraged at circumstances unfolding in the Florida election, the Supreme Court decided to take the case to settle the dispute on December 9th, 2000.  Shortly thereafter, on December 12th, the Court issued its ruling and gave the Presidency to George W. Bush, Governor of Texas.

The 2000 election came at a time when honor needed to be restored to the White House.  The country was at the end of an ugly impeachment of President Bill Clinton after the scandals in the White House involving Monica Lewenski and many other women.

The campaign was tight the entire race, this was proven by the final result.  We had a President-Elect who won 271 electoral votes to his opponents 266, but the opponent actually won the popular vote.  This is the single line item that divided the country, causing all of the controversy.

The morning of the inauguration there was a riot in Washington D.C. in protest of the newly elected President.

With the country divided, this new President had to prove himself.  It would not be long before he got that chance.

This series will give insights from Campaign, to Presidency, to 9/11 to Iraq. This is something you won’t want to miss.

Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich, insisted during a press conference that he “did nothing wrong.”  He also stated that he would talk when the time was appropriate in a court of law.  The Governor also went on to say that he would not quit a job that people hired him to do.

Can anyone believe this guy?  The federal government doesn’t come after a state governor for no reason.  They don’t start immediate impeachment processes for no reason.  Give it up Governor!  You may be innocent until proven guilty, but don’t think you will get away for your wrong doings!

Barack Obama announced that he will have Rick Warren give the invocation at the inauguration on January 20th. This choice has caused an uproar across the nation but I have to ask, “What is the big deal?”

Granted you can argue that Obama is leaving his liberal cronies in the dark, forsaking the gays, passing up the Jeremiah Wrights…. But it really isn’t that major.

Now don’t get me wrong, it is exciting to see him pick a true evangelical for this honor, but let’s not everyone get all up in arms about it.

“When I was on the bus with him, I asked him a lot of questions about the bailout because most Americans did not want that to happen,” Wurzelbacher told Beck. “I asked him some pretty direct questions. Some of the answers you guys are gonna receive they appalled me, absolutely. I was angry. In fact, I wanted to get off the bus after I talked to him.”

My question to Joe is: “Why did you not come out and say that on the campaign trail?”  In my humble opinion, this is just Joe’s way of trying to snag media attention one more time.  He’s on a wave and he is continuing to ride it.

Earlier this week we heard the stunning news that the Governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, was arrested for attempting to sell off the Senate seat of President-Elect Barack Obama.

The Governor insists that he has done nothing wrong and that the position was too important to give away for free.  He was going to give the seat to the highest bidder according to the authorities.

Since the arrest, Obama has been working tirelessly to distance himself from Blagojevich and his wrong-doing and asked that his staff report all communications between parties.  The President-Elect also called for the resignation of the Governor in a press conference.

But are there any connections between Obama and Governor Blagojevich?  Many resources today report that Obama’s Chief of Staff, Rahm Emmanuel, has been having conversations with Blagojevich about who should take the Senate seat.  While this does not connect Obama to the scandal, you have to wonder how much Emmanuel knew, if he knew, about what was going on.

During the 2008 campaign there was a lawsuit filed by Philip Berg, claiming that Senator Barack Obama was not a natural born U.S. Citizen, which would make him ineligible for the Presidency.  The case has been turned down several times and Berg took it to the Supreme Court.  However, today all of the hopes of Berg and his followers were doused as the Supreme Court denied to even hear the case.

Hillary Clinton has been named the new Secretary of State by President-Elect Obama.  Many questions have been raised about the appointment as the two were constantly at each other during the primaries questioning each other’s abilities for the job of President.

Obama seems to be letting go of the past, and looking towards the future.

Barack Obama has also seen fit to keep Robert Gates as Secretary of Defense for the time being.  This is putting some Republicans, who were once worried about Obama, at bay as the President-Elect seems to be reaching across the aisle in forming his new administration.

I would call myself an insider on the issue, as I have served on many of these smaller campaigns and have seen this happen time and time again.

The problem with the party is that they don’t let the candidates make the decisions.  They step in and treat them like puppets, telling them what to say, and when to say it.  That is why we had disasters like the Katie Couric interview, it was not because Sarah Palin doesn’t know what she is doing.  However, with the outcome of interviews like this, who can blame the Democrats but to paint a picture that our candidates know nothing?

A great example is to look at the speeches of John McCain during the campaign, and then to look at his concession speech.  I have heard time and time again that people who voted for Obama would have voted McCain if the man on election night was the same man during the campaign.

Two years ago I worked for Ralph Norman who ran in South Carolina against Congressman John Spratt.  Ralph had a fighting chance until the National Party stepped in and ruined everything.  Not to mention there was a hot head campaign manager who refused to work with the team.  His way or the highway.  Having worked on many campaigns before I knew a lot of his decisions were poor choices, as did others on the campaign staff, but he just didn’t care.  It is junk like this that kills Republicans on Election Day.

The Republican Party needs a huge overhaul before the Nation will be ready to put them back in power.

One of the largest detriments to job security of Americans is illegal immigration.  Illegal immigrants take over 10 Million American jobs per year.

We hear constant complaining about losing job after job, but if you stop illegal immigration, or at least punish companies that give jobs to the illegals, we would have many jobs open back up.

It all comes down to we need to secure our borders and this will help with the job loss situation.  Not to mention, border security will help with anti-terrorism as we now know that a few years ago terrorist organizations sent operatives across the Mexican border.

It has been two weeks since the Election and the passage of California’s Proposition 8.  Since the election there has been protest after protest to overturn the will of the voters.

The First Amendment gives people the right to peaceably assemble, but these protests have been getting out of hand.

Opponents of Prop 8, have turned to violence, and disorderly protests in streets across America to voice their opinion.  The problem is, Police Departments in some areas have been told they cannot engage the protesters.  Quite honestly, anyone involved in this type of protesting should be arrested on the spot.  There is a way to protest, and this is not the way.  Not to mention, this type of protesting is not winning anybody over for their “cause.”

“We had served together on the board of a foundation, knew one another as neighbors and family friends, held an initial fund-raiser at my house, where I’d made a small donation to his earliest political campaign,” he writes.

But right-wing commentators tried to use those connections to smear Obama, he says.

“Obama’s political rivals and enemies apparently saw an opportunity to deepen a dishonest narrative about him, that he is somehow un-American, alien, linked to radical ideas, a closet terrorist, a sympathizer with extremism,” Ayers wrote.

Ayers was the purported “terrorist” Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was referring to when she claimed that Obama was “palling around with terrorists.”

This seems a little more than “just a guy in the neighborhood,” as Obama stated in one of the debates.

If Senator Obama cannot be truthful with us about his relationships with terrorists in the campaign, what will he be dishonest about in the Presidency?  Looks like stooped to any level, including deceiving the American people, to win this election.

 Last week the nation elected a new President of the United States, Senator Barack Obama.  But what does this really mean for our nation?

Just days after the election Senator Obama named his chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel.

Emanuel has been know to say things such as “F-You” when speaking about the Republican party.  He is known to be a left-wing liberal with no record of being bi-partisan.

On election night Obama stated that he wanted the country to unite, to come together as one nation, and to put partisan politics aside.  Then he names his chief of staff, a left-wing liberal with no intentions of being bi-partisan.

The new President Elect is not getting off to a good start to ease the concerns of the people who saw through the rhetoric during this year’s campaign.

Last night I was involved in a heated debate on a talk radio show about Proposition 8 which was voted on last Tuesday in the state of California.  

For those of you not familiar with Prop. 8, it provided for the following:

ELIMINATES RIGHT OF SAME–SEX COUPLES TO MARRY. INITIATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.

• Changes the California Constitution to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry in California.
• Provides that only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.

The vote then passed in the state which has caused an uproar across the Gay Community and the Liberal circles.

It is claimed that the thought of taking away the right to marry from the Gay community is taking away their rights.  However, I would beg to differ.

The very definition of marriage as defined by the dictionary, is the union of one man and one woman.

Marriage is a sacred gift from God and should be instituted only by the church in the first place.  Last night on the talk show debate the host then proposed to me that if marriage should only be run by the church, then the Government should no longer recognize it because of its duty to Separation of Church and State.  Let me remind you, that no where in the Constitution is this separation talked about.

The next argument that the Gay and Liberal communities argue is that if gays are not allowed to marry we take away their rights to benefits.  This I agree with, there should be provisions set in place by the government for these couples to receive benefits, but it should not be under the blanket of marriage.

I agree that the homeless must be allowed to vote, that is their Constitutional right.  However, there needs to be a better system to register them by.  There could be a centralized database, or shelters where they could be logged, and use that database to register them to vote.

To use undocumented landmarks allows much more room for voter fraud, which is already becoming more prevalent in this year’s election.  This is another instance where liberal judiciaries make it easier for fraud to take place in the voting booth.

President Bush has already asked the Department of Justice to look over the Ohio elections this year as results to the potential fraud that has been reported.

Obama’s plan will cut taxes overall, reducing revenues to below the levels that prevailed under Ronald Reagan (less than 18.2 percent of GDP). The Obama tax plan is a net tax cut – his tax relief for middle class families is larger than the revenue raised by his tax changes for families over $250,000. Coupled with his commitment to cut unnecessary spending, Obama will pay for this tax relief while bringing down the budget deficit. 

This is a direct quote from Obama’s plan.  Obama even said when speaking with “Joe the Plumber,” that spreading the wealth around is good for everyone.

Now here is my problem.  If someone works hard for their money, and becomes successful, they have achieved the “American Dream.”  Why should we take that money from the individual and send it to someone else?  We shouldn’t.  Everyone has equal opportunity to make a name for themself in this country whether you want to believe that or not.  Everyone has equal opportunity to work hard at what they do, and strive to be successful.  Socialism is not the answer.  Obama, not the change we need.
