Palin: I will be in Charge of Senate

Sarah Palin gets it, she understands the job of the Vice President.  That job is to be the President over the Senate.  While most liberals are saying Cheney took too much charge over the Senate, we got and are reading the Constitution where it says the Vice President of the United States, is the President of the Senate!

The only stipulation is that the Vice President has no voting power in the Senate unless there is a tie.  This is just another attempt of the liberals to make it appear that the Republicans try to “Abuse their power.”  It appears that the Liberals are the ones who don’t know the Constitution of the United States, not Sarah Palin…

Article One, Section 3 of the United States Constitution: The Vice President oversees the Senate’s procedures and will cast a tie-breaking vote if one is needed.

    Thanks for verifying my point!

I’m not verifying your point, she wants to go behind the scenes, blurring the line between the executive and legislative branches. She said this herself during the VP debates.

PALIN: No, no. Of course, we know what a vice president does. And that’s not only to preside over the Senate and will take that position very seriously also. I’m thankful the Constitution would allow a bit more authority given to the vice president if that vice president so chose to exert it in working with the Senate and making sure that we are supportive of the president’s policies and making sure too that our president understands what our strengths are. John McCain and I have had good conversations about where I would lead with his agenda. That is energy independence in America and reform of government over all, and then working with families of children with special needs. That’s near and dear to my heart also. In those arenas, John McCain has already tapped me and said, that’s where I want you, I want you to lead. I said, I can’t wait to get and there go to work with you.

Hey fact check, take a look yourself at what Biden tells a little kid he will be doing as VP…. it ain’t that different from what Sarah Palin says (it primarily just takes him LONGER to say it…. but get used to it)

Last laugh laughs best: Sarah Palin Jr Senator from Alaska makin’ legislation and Joe Biden just runnin’ over for tie breakers (of which there will be none..!) See ya ’round, Joe.

And David, I really agree with you. The only thing the Constitution itself specifies about leadership in the Senate is the two offices of Senate President and Senate Pres Pro Tem. The rest is left up to the Senators to run the way they want to do it. It wasn’t until 1919 that the first Majority/minority leaders were selected and became part of the way the Senate is now run.
