It’s Official: The Bailout has Failed..
The highly anticipated vote on the Economy Rescue Plan came today in a ball of fire as the House did not pass the “Bailout Bill.” The bill failed with a final vote of 205-228.
The President had urged Congress to pass the bill and they did not take his lead. This is starting to cause panic on Wall Street as the Dow took a plummet of 777 points, breaking the all-time record for most points lost in one day.
Presidential Candidates, McCain, and Obama, had spent time in Washington last week working on this plan, both were disappointed that the bill did not pass.
This was the one time that we needed politics to be put aside, the one time we needed parties to band together, and they just couldn’t do it.
Speaking from the House floor, during discussions about the bill, Nancy Pelosi attacked Republicans saying that it was on their watch that the Economy is in the state that it is now. This was not the time for her to be pointing fingers as it did not sit well with House Republicans. Some House Republicans hinted that her comments caused them to vote against the bill.
