Huffington Post: Obama to hold Town Hall if McCain doesn’t show!

According to the Huffington Post, Senator Barack Obama is prepared to do a solo town hall meeting tomorrow night if Senator John McCain decides to not show up for the scheduled debate.

Yesterday, Senator McCain announced that he was suspending his Presidential Campaign and requested to postpone the first debate so he (and Senator Obama) could return to Washington to fulfill their duties as United States Senators. McCain called Obama and asked him to do the same. Later, Obama said:

I think we should have the debate.

Senator Obama still holds this position claiming that the American people need to hear the two candidates discuss the issues, not have them behind closed doors in Washington actually fixing them.

There is still no word from John McCain as to whether or not he will be attending tomorrow night’s debate at Ole Miss.

Let’s look at what common sense would tell you. Senator Obama should have done the same thing as John McCain and suspended his Presidential Race, and postponed the debate until the National Crisis was taken care of. He should have been willing to work with Republicans on the issue. Instead, it took a request from President Bush to get Senator Obama in Washington doing his job as Senator. In the opinion of this blog, that is ridiculous, and Senator Obama should be ashamed of himself.

You call this common sense? I call it sad.

Yes I call it common sense, Obama has a duty, and he didn’t want to do it. He had to have his arm bent by the President to come to Washington, he should have gone as an impulse just like Senator McCain, Washington is where they belong at this time, and they shouldn’t have even had to be asked, note: John McCain didn’t wait to be asked.
